My Loves: September 2010

Stu:
- keeping up with school and work; three classes with a huge workload plus re-structuring at work. How do you do it?

Big Bear:
- furiously reciting the Articles of Faith, in addition to all your other commitments, so you can meet your goal of memorizing all 13 before your baptism on Oct 9th! So exciting!
- nervously attending your first one-on-one interview with the bishop...no tears and you learned all about WWJD
- your confidence with friends and at school is so wonderful to see - second grade is becoming on you
- running up and giving me a big hug (in front of friends and adults, no less) when I arrived to pick you up from an activity. That affection might not last forever so I'm savoring it!

Boo-boo:

- naming your favorite blankie "princess" and toting her around like a baby doll - perhaps your baby sister's girliness is rubbing off on you. Actually she thought you were talking about her when you kept saying things like, "Princess is awake from her nap now." Confused FK says, "ME?"
- your darling little red face and sweaty body as you run around the soccer field chasing the ball with the other 4-yr-olds - then when you finally reach it, you have no idea where to go. adorable.
- all suited up for the pool in water-wings, goggles, a floaty tube and covered in orange powder from some nasty cheese puffs...you make me laugh!

Baby-girl:
- when asked if you need to go potty: "No, I fine!"
- after many reminders to put on your shoes you answer with a reluctant, "Oh-tay, Mommy."
- never, never forget to have a potty treat...but somehow you constantly forget to put away Nana (stuffed kitty) and snugly (cloth diaper) so we can find them at nap-time.
- me: "What color is this ball?"
FK: "G-een" (same answer every time)
me: "It's purple."
FK: "pupow, right!"
We have this same conversation over and over again with every color of the rainbow and your answer is always the same: "g-een"...then to my surprise you'll point to the shoes and say, "no, the pink ones!", or point to your blue shirt and say, "Blue, blue. Mommy match. Blue, blue!" Is she messing with me?
- when big brother asked, "Where did you get that bracelet?" you replied, "um, Target!" (truth: she got it from a friend. Hmmmm...this little 22-month-old parrot living in my house is super adorable and only a tiny bit creepy!)
- at the park someone asks, "How old are you?" Confidently you reply "Three!" while holding out two fingers. I then explain that she's actually one and already lying about her age.
